Master Alty has extensive experience teaching students with a variety of special needs. Over the past more than 30 years he has taught hundreds of students with learning, communication, social, as well as physical challenges.

Students with Hyperactivity, Spectrum Disorders as well as Dyslexia and many other challenges do quiet well with Master Alty's program. New Horizon Karate has specific consistent structure and rules which allows students to become grounded. The discipline is not heavy handed but rather teaches the student to learn to control themselves.

Many Special Ed students find success in the karate program quickly spreads to the rest of their life. New Horizon Karate's program incorporates the Brain Gym exercises as well as other developmental movements in order to balance the students mind and body. Many martial arts movements cross the planes of the body and use both the creative and logical sides of the brain together. These movements are very helpful to children with Asperger's (Autism) and hyperactive students. Classes are taught in group or private settings as is appropriate for the individual student.
